چکیده
Background: N-acetyl-p-aminophenol (APAP) or paracetamol overdose causes increasing of toxic metabolites, which disrupting hepatocyte function, and liver injury occurs. Curcumin has been used for treatment of inflammatory conditions such as hepatitis. Therefore, this study aims to determine effects of curcumin attenuate hepatitis in mice with APAP overdose. Methods: Male mice (25-30 gram) were divided into four groups. Group I (control); mice were gavaged with distilled water. Group II (APAP); mice were gavaged with a single dose of 400 mg/kg of APAP. Group III (APAP + CUR 200); mice were gavaged with a single dose of 400 mg/kg of APAP and 200 mg/kg of curcumin. Group IV (APAP + CUR 600); mice were gavaged with a single dose of 400 mg/kg of APAP and 600 mg/kg of curcumin. The serum was collected to determine liver enzymes and liver tissues for hepatic MDA, hepatic GSH

Immunohistochemical and molecular study on the protective effect of curcumin against hepatic toxicity induced by paracetamol in Wistar rats
BACKGROUND An overdose of paracetamol is a frequent reason for liver and renal toxicity and possible death and curcumin has hepatoprotective properties against liver damage. The exact mechanism of such protection is not clear. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the molecular levels of the protective effect of curcumin on paracetamol overdose induced hepatic toxicity in rats. METHO...
متن کاملAcute Liver Injury Is Independent of B Cells or Immunoglobulin M
BACKGROUND & AIMS Acute liver injury is a clinically important pathology and results in the release of Danger Associated Molecular Patterns, which initiate an immune response. Withdrawal of the injurious agent and curtailing any pathogenic secondary immune response may allow spontaneous resolution of injury. The role B cells and Immunoglobulin M (IgM) play in acute liver injury is largely unkno...

Background & Objective: Alcohol overdose can induce increment in free radicals. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of swimming training and Curcumin in withdrawal period of alcohol overdose on superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPX), total antioxidant capacity (TAC), malone dealdeid (MDA) and protein carbonyl (PC) of rats. Materials & Methods: 40 rats were...

Background: Curcumin ameloriates liver damages but its poor absorption, rapid metabolism, and side effects at high doses may limit its clinical applications Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the protective and regenerative effects of Curcumin Nanomicells on alcohol-induced chronic liver injuries in mice. These effects were compared with Curcumin and Silymarin in the same model. Method...
